Frequently Answered Questions

Q. Is there a bus from East Fleet into Weymouth?
A. Sadly the bus company that ran the service from the campsite has decided to cancel this service as it has been economically unviable even with the subsidy that we have paid them over the last few years. The village bus runs every 20 mins Monday to Friday and hourly at weekends from the end of our lane (1/2 mile) or a taxi is approx £7 to Weymouth from us. We are recommending the Park and Ride which is at Mount Pleasant and costs between £1.50 and £3.50 all day including unto 6 people for the bus.

Q. What time can I arrive?
A. Pitches are available from 11am on arrival day, reception is generally open
until 7pm. When the Old Barn is open the latest time you can arrive is 9.30pm
so please make sure you are here by then. Barriers secure the park and you
will not be able to gain access without your entrance pin code. A late arrivals
area is located just outside the entrance barriers to park for the night. We
only have limited space outside the reception so please do not to arrive
before 11am.

Q. Can I stay late on departure date?
A. During the shoulder season this is usually no problem, please enquire at reception and we
just ask for a donation into our charity box. During the peak times it is more difficult
to accommodate late departures if the pitch is booked for the next arrival. Although you may
park your caravan or trailer in our car park for the day - please check with reception on
location.

Q . Where is the nearest beach?
A. We are on the shores of the Fleet Lagoon, and although there are great walks and views
from the park the shoreline is not suitable for swimming as it is similar to an estuary.
The nearest safe sandy beach is Weymouth which is 3 miles away.

Q. Can I book a specific pitch?
A. We will always do our best to accommodate you in your favourite area, but we can not
guarantee specific pitch numbers will be available.

Q. Can I park by my tent or caravan?
A. Yes, all the pitches are numbered and allocated with plenty of space for parking and bbqs
etc.

Q. I have a large tent/caravan, and want to bring 12 people - is that ok?
A. Generally we will only accept bookings for one family in each unit. This is because whilst
your tent or caravan may sleep 8 - 10 people or more, we have found from past experience
that it can cause problems if the weather turns bad and you are all cooped up in a confined space.

Q. Can I book next to friends?
A. Yes, that is fine, we will accept a party of up to 3 families together. It is easier for us if the
pitches are all booked under one name so that we can make sure we keep the bookings
together.

Q. Can I bring a dog, cat or other pet?
A. Yes, please see our doggie page for canine information. Cats and other pets are most
welcome, we have had a wide variety of pets visit us in the past - tortoise, guinea pigs,
rabbits - even a skunk and an owl!! - just make sure you bring adequate security for them
as we would hate them to become the local foxes next snack!

Q. Where is the nearest fishing?
A. There are plenty of sea fishing both from boats or the nearby on Chesil Beach at either
Portland or Abbotsbury (both approx 3 miles). The nearest course fishing can be found
inland North or Dorchester (approx 10 miles).

Q. What happens if I need to cancel my holiday?
A. If you are not happy with any aspect of your booking, any changes/cancellations can be
made within 7 days of issue of confirmation for a full refund of deposit. After this time the
deposit becomes non-refundable for whatever reason, however if you give us reasonable
notice of cancellation, we can hold your deposit for use against a future stay with us
within the same season as the original booking.

Q. Can we look around the farm and animals?
A. Sorry but our farmyard area is a fully working farm and not set up for visitors. There
are always plenty of animals around in the nearby fields, Chickens and pheasants are
up by the farm houses and if you listen really hard you might hear Bert and
George our Donkeys.

Q. Can I get my ice blocks frozen?
A. Yes, there is a freezer located outside the reception for freezing ice blocks (please note that
there is no charge for this and they are left at your own risk). Please don't fill bottles with
water or put fish or any food stuff in this freezer as it stops everything else from freezing.

Q. Can I get Camping Gaz and Calor Gas refills?
A. Our shop can swap bottles for you, or you can buy new bottles from us, we also stock small
cartridges for camping stoves.

Q. Can I top-up my mobile phone?
A. Unfortunately we can no longer offer Mobile Top-ups. There are numerous local
shops that do offer this service. We can however charge your phone or laptop.
We charge £1 for this service. Please remember to bring your charger with you.

Q. Can I get Breakfast in the Old Barn?
A. We do takeaway Bacon and Sausage baps, Tea's and Coffee's on weekends
during high season. The Lugger Inn and the Turks Head Inn in Chickerell do both
offer full cooked breakfasts daily.

Q. How much does the Wifi cost?
A. Our Wifi is available throughout the park, so you should be able to go online right
at your pitch. It is a chargeable service, managed by Park Wifi. The prices are as follows.

1 Day £5.00
3 Days £12.00
7 Days £17.00
1 month £29.00

Our wifi is currently suitable for general web browsing, Facebook, emails etc, however the incoming broadband speed is not fast enough to allow for streaming video or TV on a shared network such as ours.
